I have always been drawn to dark food photography images. There is something intriguing about food that appears to glow in dark scene.
These images were created using one studio strobe positioned directly behind the subject with a black flag serving as backdrop. Light is further shaped through the use of two more black flags on the sides of the product and white reflectors bouncing light back toward the subject. The result is light skimming the sides of the subject with a moderate amount of fill on the subject.
I'm eager to try the technique with my next client shoot.
